Welcome to Abstinence Education by Julie Hage!

Julie is a certified Abstinence Educator under the auspices of a program developed by the Educational Center for Life and a coalition of Metro Detroit pregnancy centers. Using a nationally acclaimed teaching model called Why kNOw, Inc., she presents this program to young people at local middle schools, high schools, youth groups, parent groups, religion classes, medical professionals, or anyone who would like to hear about abstinence. The students especially respond to Julie's deep love for them; a love that compels her to speak the truth about healthy lifestyle choices.

Julie has also been active in a group called Pregnancy Aid, Inc. whose goal it is to help women cope with an unplanned pregnancy. Having joined in 1997, she became Vice President in 1998, and President in 2000. She is currently President once more after being treasurer, and remains a dedicated volunteer at the organization. Her goal is to help everyone understand what true love is, and how even if we make a mistake, true love is still strong enough to conquer all.
 

Julie offers abstinence programs to many different groups. Julie uses the Why kNOw program's focus on building teens that are abstinent until marriage, that have healthy relationships, and possess concrete leadership skills and a strong sense of value. Why kNOw builds into the lives of young people, increasing confidence; after all, a confident teen is often an abstinent teen. Julie takes this program, coupled with her experiences as a teacher and educator and can talk to your group about what abstinence means, how you can encourage it, and how to live it.

The following is a listing of programs she has offered to different groups. However, she is willing to come speak to any group who would like to learn more about abstinence:

  • Middle School: Grades 6-8.
  • High School Students: Grades 9-12
  • Parents of Middle School and High School Students
  • Parent/Teacher groups
  • Educators
  • Religion Classes: Let Julie come take over the religion classes in your school for a week. If you don't have a week, she'll come for a day or more.
  • Church groups
  • Medical Professionals
